![]() I have been in intense discussions with honestech about all this. The trouble is that I'm using old tapes and I really need the best quality and the Blue-ray player quality. I have done this with Windows DVD maker (which automatically produces less than top-quality DVDs) and with the Honestech program. ![]() If you burn one of these files at less than full quality, the blue-ray player will play them just fine. (I do have one other DVD player which won't play them either but it is very old.) (Obviously I have checked the Honestech software settings repeatedly and they are set to NTSC.) I think that player plays the disks because it isn't a blue-ray player. At first I thought this was because for some reason Samsung was recognizing the DVD code as PAL or something, but now I don't think that. They will play on the multistandard DVD player. Check TV system." I also checked two of them with a Sony player belonging to some one else. The player announces, "Cannot play this disk. And here is the problem.Īny DVD made from a file created by the Honestech software at full quality will not play in my blue-ray player. Now I have a Samsung blue-ray player, and a Panasonic mutistandard DVD player. You can also take the option to reduce the quality if you are using a single-layer disk. (Comes to about 6 gigs usually when I stream 100 minutes for a soccer game.) Then it reformats it and burns it as a standard DVD. You can stream up to two hours at beset quality and fit it, in theory, on a dual-layer disk. Now Honestech, as most of you know, connects a VCR to its hardware with RCA cables and then connects with USB to the computer. It has burned a lot of DVDs, mostly on dual-layer Verbatim disks, with very few problems, using various different programs. I have a pretty new HP desktop and the DVD burner that comes with it. I have a substantial VHS conversion including vintage sporting events which I am trying to convert, as well as some movies. I am having a crazy problem with Honestech 5.0 VHS to DVD software, which I bought a couple of weeks ago. There are a number of forums this might go but this looks as good as any.

To help you out, I’ve listed every abbreviation used to describe a soccer position and given a clear explanation of what the abbreviation means and where that player is positioned on the soccer field. At first glance, it can be confusing and hard to understand their meaning and what position they refer to. The most significant changes were the move of at least one additional midfielder into back defense and the establishment of the trailing forwards as acknowledged midfielders.īeginning in 2012, U.S.There are many different abbreviations used for each position in soccer. Halfbacks started to be called Midfielders. ![]() Players were free to select their own numbers (which had essentially been true for substitutes, anyway), and their jersey numbers were no longer expected to correspond to any certain positions being played on the field. ![]() ![]() “Total Football” appeared and a lot of the previous structure to player numbers and the original team numbering scheme disappeared. Position functions started to merge and overlap. The other halfbacks then pinched in closer to the center of the field:īeginning in the 1960s, significant experimentation in the use of players, systems of play, formations, and alignments began. The second change was to move the center halfback into the defense, essentially creating a center fullback position. Similarly, a strong scorer, playmaker, or striker in the set-back role – made famous by Pele – receives the same references as a “Number 10.” This ultimately gave rise to statements about a “Classic Number 9,” a “Traditional Number 9,” a “True Number 9,” a “Real Number 9,” or someone “In the Number 9 shirt” or “Playing as a Number 9,” all referring to a central striker, leading the attack, up-front, in the middle of the field – no matter what actual number may be printed on the player’s jersey. The most significant change moved the two Inside Forwards, setting them back off the line and closer to the Halfbacks, thereby making the Center Forward much more prominent. The numbering scheme and the names of the positions remained the same as first introduced. With the advent of the “W-M” formation in the 1950s, players started to move into positions on the field that are a little more familiar to the common day. Accordingly, the following numbers were applied to the jerseys of the players, corresponding to the positions they played: There was no real substitution, very little interchange between positions, and teams played the same formation. Beginning with number 1, numbers were assigned from the back-to-the-front, and from right-to-left, starting with the goalkeeper and proceeding along the lines of the fullbacks, halfbacks, and forwards in a straight 2-3-5 formation. The first position number scheme in soccer appeared in England in the 1920s. This is possibly due to the proliferation of position names (See: “ Soccer Positions”), it appears to be hoped that a general numbering scheme will reduce confusion, both among players and coaches, and help with a common understanding that transfers between teams, coaching instruction, and different formations. ![]() It has also recently come back into vogue. The use of soccer position numbers is to help identify positions all over the field and has been in practice for years. ![]() While the sound may not exactly be akin to analog, the interface is designed to look similar to hardware bus compressors. Variety Of Sound has developed many free plugins, and their Density MkIII is one of the most valuable plugins. Variety of Sound density MKIII (Mastering Compressor)ĭensity MkIII is a smooth bus compressor ideal for gluing groups of instruments. And the fact that it’s free is wonderful. This software will allow you to “glue” the mix and influence the transients in the best way. But if you learn how to use it, it can become a powerful tool for bus compression. Īnalog Obsession’s BUSTERse plugin may seem a bit complicated at first. Īnalog Obsession BUSTERse is available for Windows 7 or higher and macOS 10.9 or higher. In addition, there are also separate Mix and Boost knobs. For example, you will find a Tilt control that will boost the high frequencies and cut the lows, or vice versa. On top of that, the Sidechain section has another set of TR controls to help you influence the transients a bit more. For example, there is a High Pass Filter here and two Mid and HF knobs. You can use it to influence how the compressor perceives frequencies. The Sidechain section makes your work with the plugin most exciting. And in addition, there is an Xformer mode to get more saturation. Also, here is the Turbo, which will bring the plugin to work more similarly to the original unit. In particular, the first Main will work like the usual bypass. Īt the top right of the plugin window, you will get three buttons that are responsible for mods. This parameter can be very helpful if, for example, you want to do a parallel compression for drums. Unlike many paid plugins, the developers have also implemented the Mix knob, which implies selecting the ratio of Dry and Wet signals. In particular, there is the usual Auto Release, Ratio from 1.5 to 10, Attack from 0.1 to 30 milliseconds, Make-Up Gain, and Threshold control. If you already have experience with SSL-style compressors, then the set of basic settings will not discourage you. ![]() Its main feature is that, in addition to the compressor settings, it has many additional features that will help you affect the character and dynamics even more. Such is the free software BUSTERse from Analog Obsession. But now, there are enough plugins that emulate its operation. The SSL Bus Compressor is a very popular equipment for this, which was part of the console. Now, what do you use the bus compressor for anyway? First, it allows you to shape transients, and second, to get the effect of “gluing” the mix as a whole. Analog Obsession BUSTERse (SSL Compressor)Īnalog Obsession’s BUSTERse plugin can be your main tool for “gluing” mixes.
